Coffee and Call For Topics

Did your child bring home information about B&W Specialty Coffee Sales? The PTA fall fundraising efforts continue! It may feel like it's gone on and on (it has), but the PTA has a plan and we promise it was the best way we could figure out how to do this.  The PTA funds a variety of things like classroom field trips, supplies, scholarships for after-school activities and staffing to help coordinate school volunteers. In all, our annual budget has approximately $44,000 of expenses (yes, you read that right). If you want to learn more, check out the budget document here.

We don't want to over-burden Waite Park parents with too many fundraisers, but we recognize that families have different comfort areas on how they support the school.  If you couldn't participate for the coin drive, for instance, we hope you got a chance to contribute to Give to the Max (or you can still donate using the "donate" button on this blog).  If you couldn't do either of those, we hope you can contribute through coffee sales (hot chocolate and tea will also be available).  If you need a copy of the order form for coffee, email any of the PTA officers listed on this blog, and we'll email one back.  Also, if you'd like to learn more about B&W Specialty Coffee, click that link right there and check out their page.

Though, once this Fall Fundraising is over, we are going to run out of topics for this blog!  We want to know what else you'd like to see here (besides us begging for money).  There are all sorts of possibilities.  Articles on education in general?  Information on ways parents can contribute to their school community?  Information on how to access special ed or gifted programs for your child?

Let us know in the comments!  (Please?  It'll make me feel better to see something down there so that I know people are reading this.  I need constant validation).

And because we all love pictures of our adorable children, here's a picture from the recent School Patrol outing to the MOA Waterpark.  They're an awesome bunch of kids who work hard for the school, and they deserved this great field trip.
