Three Plays in One Night on Wednesday!

The students involved in the Fairy Tale Theatre (taught by Cay Gjertson and Jenn Diethart) and Music Theatre (taught by Ned Worrell, Sorsha Nix and Jenn Diethart) classes will be presenting their plays on Wednesday, December 9.

Starting at 6:30, the Fairy Tale Theatre students (grades 1-2) will take the stage, presenting two variations on the classic tale, "The Three Billy Goats Gruff."

The first, a comedy adapted by Cay Gjertson, called The Three Silly Billies, involves the three goats trying to get around the "troll bridge." The play features cameos by such characters as the three bears, Jack (from Jack and the Beanstalk), Little Red Riding Hood, and another surprise guest.

The second show presented by the Fairy Tale Theatre students is a musical version called The Three Nanny Goats. Filled with goats, bunnies, butterflies, a bee and, of course, an ugly troll, this show contains catchy tunes and really showcases the musical talent of the students.

Then, at 7:30, the Music Theatre class (grades 4-5) will take the stage, presenting When "Silents" Was Golden:  Ms. Buckley has reluctantly hired Mrs. McGuire to sell her abandoned warehouse where silent movies were once filmed. As Mrs. McGuire shows the warehouse to an array of colorful characters, the spirits of silent movie actors figure out their own way to save the warehouse. Featuring such stars as Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, Greta Garbo and many more, this charming show helps us look back on "those great days of olden, when 'silents' was golden."

The students have worked very hard to put these shows together, so please pass on the word to other Waite Park families and friends!
