Chester is BACK! (Oh, and school started, too)

Hopefully you'll forgive the late blog post and focus instead on the exciting new year with Waite Park and the PTA!  We've already managed a few amazing events.  In September, we had our Hi-5 & K-1 Playdate and, in October, the second annual Kindness in Chalk event for National Bullying Awareness Month.  Just last week, we hosted the triumphant return of Family Dinner Night.  Waite Park families enjoyed delicious tacos, prepared by our marvelous Food Committee, and MVNA provided flu shots.  That's right.  Tacos and flu shots, together again.

We're doing something else exciting this year, too:

ONLY ONE MAJOR FALL FUNDRAISING ACTIVITY!

Not Chester.
You read that right.  This year, we're dropping coffee sales or wreath sales or whatever sales, and we're doing three weeks of our October Coin Drive!  As of October 10th, Chester the Amazing Coin Counter is back for a second year.  Your kids have probably already told you about him.  Through October 31st, send coins to school, and your kids can feed Chester his favorite money-snack.  And next time you're in the building, see if you can sneak a peek of him.  You won't find him on Facebook, or Twitter, or Snapchat, after all.  He's a bit self-conscious about pictures.  (Okay, he might be on Snapchat).

But wait!  There's more!

In November, we'll do Give to the Max Day (11/17).  In December, we have our well-loved community event Craftstravaganza (12/2), and in January, we're looking into the possibility of doing a "grown ups only" fundraising night at Wander North Distillary.

Remember, too:  Every 3rd Monday is still Waite Park night at Parkway Pizza.  Pick up a quick family dinner and eat comfortably knowing that a percentage of the profits from that night go to our PTA (which means it goes to the school, teachers, and your students).

If you'd like to get regular updates about all these things and more, the PTA is present on Facebook.  Our official page: https://www.facebook.com/WaiteParkPTA/

And, of course, if you ever have questions about how to get more involved in the PTA, email anybody on the list you see to the right of this blog page.  We meet every month, and we love seeing new parents.

Until next time...
