Also, thanks to all who showed up for Book Swap and Dance night. As you'll see in the pictures, the kids had a blast (and have amazing rhythm, apparently). We also sold tons of tickets to our upcoming Spring Social. If you still need tickets, don't worry! We're selling even more in the coming weeks (including at the Book Fair).
Conferences and Book Fair THIS Thursday/Friday
If you haven't yet, you can still sign up for the Parent/Teacher conferences happening this Thursday and Friday, Feb 11-12. Find the link on Waite Park's main page.
Also happening during conferences is the Book Fair on Thursday, 2/11. The PTA will be there from 4-8pm selling tickets to the Spring Social. Tickets are $20 each if you buy them from us that night ($25 if you buy them at the door later).
Spring Social! Saturday, April 16th
The Spring Social is the PTA's biggest annual fundraiser. It's an adults only event (Rec+ offers childcare so that parents can join us), and it's open to the whole northeast Minneapolis community -- or, really, anybody who wants to join us! Ask anyone who's attended in the past: there's great food, plenty of drinks, and an amazing silent auction. You can bid on anything from local art to tickets for city-wide events. The funds go straight to the PTA, benefitting your kids, their school, and our community.
Where: 514 N 3rd St #101, Minneapolis, MN 55401
When: Saturday, April 16th, 6-11pm
Childcare: Register with Rec+ at ActiveNet (or in person after school)
Classroom Baskets: Each classroom puts together a Classroom Basket for the Spring Social Silent Auction with a particular theme. This allows each family a chance to contribute. Stay tuned for details on your classroom theme and then send in items to go in the basket to be auctioned off!
Donate Auction Items: Do you know someone who would be willing to donate art, jewelry, gift cards, tickets, or even cash to help us purchase silent auction items? Perhaps you're a business owner, or know of one, who would like to donate goods, including food or drink for the auction? We'd love to hear from you! In the past, families have donated cabin trips, catered dinner experiences, and handmade items. All donations can be given to Megan Sparks (mmurphysparks@comcast.net), April Holen (aprildewing@hotmail.com) or just leave them in the school office and we’ll pick them up!
Volunteering: There's lots to do to plan and prepare for this event. If you want to help, please contact Amanda Muenzner (Amanda.muenzner@gmail.com) to learn more.
